I recently discovered Bread Alone Whole Grain Health bread and its my new favorite bread. Personally, I was obsessed with the jalapeño cream cheese but they sadly stopped making it. I promise, if you don’t think you could ever give up cheeses, the Kite Hill products are a very satisfying alternative and the closest I’ve tasted to the “real thing.” Here, you can use either the non-dairy cream cheese here or their ricotta. The Kite Hill products officially made me a convert to plant-based cheeses. You can use any dairy-free cream cheese here, but my absolutely favorite are the Kite Hill products. Sprinkle on a bit of red pepper combined with sumac (a tangy spice with an acidic flavor reminiscent of lemon juice) for a bit of a kick. Its the height of tomato season so this snack is a great way to use up your cherry or heirloom tomatoes and herbs. To take the flavors to the next level, add hemp seeds, sumac, red pepper and basil. This updated plant-based version combines perfectly toasted whole grain bread, dairy-free cream cheese (or dairy-free ricotta), and in-season tomatoes. Now some of you may remember (and either loved or loathed) the humble tomato sandwich dressed with mayo and bread. And I don’t know about you, but I absolutely cannot go to bed when I’m hungry. ![]() Despite our best intentions to not snack, hey, it happens. This is my go-to mid-afternoon or when I did not eat a big enough dinner and I’m feeling super hungry before bed. ![]() Today I am sharing one of my favorite snacks with you. ![]()
